Project Overview
The Highlander Hotel is once again the grooviest of hotels in the Iowa City area. Room by room, the entire hotel was completely renovated to bring it back to its heyday. Merit demolished and renovated the existing floor plan, made modifications to the pool area ceilings and the exterior. We also renovated the lobby and bar area. The project scope included painting, installation of casework, hardware/trim and drywall work.
The Highlander describes itself as “a retro revival of an urban resort for the independent spirit.” They offer records and record players in the rooms, a game room, indoor pool, fitness room, lending library, beautiful courtyard and patio, and gorgeous ballroom space.
