Project Overview
This project included a new fleet maintenance building for Iowa City Streets and Water Departments. It was constructed with architectural precast wall panels, conventional steel framing and bar joists and metal deck. The scope of work also included two commercial wash bays — one fully automatic and one large rough wash bay for large trucks and equipment. The building was LEED certified and utilized translucent panels around the building and skylights for natural light. We installed high-speed roll-up doors throughout the building.
In addition to the main fleet maintenance building, we also remodeled an existing building on-site for Iowa City Police and Fire Department operations. We constructed a stand-alone four-story fire training facility which included a smoke generator, burn room, movable wall partitions, roof cut out station and repelling, as well.
