SHORT’S Burger & Shine, Iowa City
This location was a shoe store owned by H.D. Short from the 1920’s through the 1970’s. Since then it has been home to several other restaurants. The project included installing new hardwood and tile floors, building a new bar and kitchen, remodeling restrooms, installing new doors, constructing a platform for the booth area and adding wainscot to the bar area. All new electrical, mechanical and plumbing were also part of the project. Work on the exterior involved building a new facade and repairing the roof and front steps.
